HELPFUL INFORMATION:
Name & Address Changes: Can only be done at the Emmet County Equalization Office 231-348-1708
PRE: This is your homestead exemption. If it is your primary residence, your PRE should be 100%.
Bills: Bills are sent only to the property owner or representative. Escrow companies request and receive their information separately.
Receipts: Receipts are only sent if you request one at the time of payment with a self-addressed, stamped envelope or email address. You may also call and make other arrangements.
Partial Payments: This office accepts partial payments. You may start making partial payments upon receipt of your bill. Please note: if you are making payments past the due date, the payment will be assessed penalties and interest.
Refunds/Over Payment: A refunded payment will only be made to the person or entity that made the payment.
Processing Time: Payments received are usually processed within one-two business days. In the few weeks before the due date, however, it may take longer due to high volume of payments. You should mail in your payment as early as possible to avoid any issues. It is also a good idea to include your contact information along with your payment in case there is an issue.
Interest: All late payments will be charged interest. Sorry, there are no exceptions.
Time of Billing & Due Date: The Village of Alanson bills one time per year. Bills are mailed out by Emmet County on July 1st and are due upon receipt to the Village of Alanson Treasurer. Bills postmarked after September 14 will be considered late and are subject to penalties and interest.
Payments can be mailed to:
Village of Alanson
P.O. Box 425
