Alanson Community Overview

The Village of Alanson is home to 785 people and is located on the Crooked River in Emmet County. It is a faith based community that prides itself on the simplicity of life that only Northern Michigan can offer.

The people are the backbone of the community through its volunteerism and will always rise to the occasion to help anyone in need. People are friendly and down to earth and welcome the many tourists and visitors that vacation and seasonally reside in the surrounding area.

The Downtown is the center of activity to cross paths and chat with friends visiting the local Post Office or many businesses. The 4th of July parade is a tradition that must be seen because only a Norman Rockwell painting could do it better.
